Nicole Cassano Photography bio picture

Welcome!

Quite simply …

If I’m not looking at the world through my lens… I’m imagining it through my lens.

I love capturing the intricate details and the simplicity of the obvious.

My passion for photography is made up of everything I love in life: color, texture, light and emotion.

There is something about capturing little moments in time, boxing them up in my camera, taking them home and turning them into works of art that makes my heart sing.

I look forward to each and every session.  My lens is a window into your world.

It’s your life, my vision…

Alicia and James – Engaged | New Castle, PA

I met with Alicia and James a few months back to book their wedding and E-session. At that time we came up with the concept of a picnic theme for their engagement session… we also thought it would be cute to shoot the session exactly one year prior to their wedding date wich is August 6th 2011! So last Friday, with a loaded picnic basket in hand and a 1950’s glider in tow, I made my way to the happiest place on earth! No, not Disney World. “MY” happiest place on earth…Dean’s Farm!  I LOVE it there! Owned by dear friends of mine, I’m lucky to have free run of their gorgeous land… not to mention, pick up some DELICIOUS cheese while I’m there :)

Alicia and Jim are so fun to be around. Jim cracks me up!  When he makes Alicia laugh, her whole face lights up. It’s a beautiful thing.

I completely visualized the image below last week while I was at the farm shooting this session. I knew I had to get an engaged couple out there for this shot! I was so heart set on this shot and I had to make sure we were in this exact spot at this exact moment….I knew it would be magical….I heart this image.

Then we raced to higher grounds to catch some more sun and unload the glider. Isn’t Alicia’s ring a beaut? :)

I’ll finish up with the very last shot I took that night. And heck! Then I’ll just show you a slide show :)

What a great idea, and I know you've wanted to use this for a loonnnggg time, you finally got your chance. (People would have frowned on me having a picnic with a big 'ole bottle of wine, LOL). Valerie and Patrick in Stop Motion| New Castle, PA Engagement Photographer

During our pre-session meeting, Valerie talked about the horses she had while growing up. She then explained that her sister still had horses. Well I was all ears…because what’s more romantic than horses??? So we planned for their e-session to take place with the horses.  But the night before their session, as I was laying in bed trying to pre-visualize the session ahead…something occurred to me! Valerie had mentioned that Patrick was into video production. And I always like to do something that includes the interests of my couples.

And it just so happened that I had been toying around with stop motion films with my daughters for the past few months.  We made their stuffed animals magically walk and dance around their bedrooms and it was so much fun.

But not until that night did it occur to me that I could use these fun little films in a client session. So I had to think to quick about how to incorporate the stop motion into the session, I had less than 12 hours to gather props.

I knew I wanted to add Valerie and Patrick’s super adorable little baby girl into the session… so litterally 1 hour before the session I ran to Tractor Supply and bought horse figurines for her to play with and then dusted off all my scrapbook supplies to craft the little red hearts….and voila! Valerie and Patrick’s Stop Motion film was born.

Beware future clients….I’m completely addicted and will want to do more of these in the future…I’m just sayin’  :)

Before I show you the film, I’ll share a few still images

Couple Kissing in a field of purple flowers

**sigh** Wasn’t that a dreamy sunset. Sunsets make me happy. I think they make horses happy too. I don’t know about you, but I count 3 smiles in this next picture….

You know what else makes me happy? Feet

Foot Shot in the wild flowers

I think to myself everytime “this is my new favorite feet shot” …but I really think this time, it is!…until my next session anyhow, ha!

I’m anticipating November! Val is going to be a stunning bride!

I just adore this little family. I’m so grateful that they have chosen me to be a part of this special time in their lives!

“A” Family Part I | New Castle, PA Family Photographer

I’m playing catch up on my blog today. This is session from last week that did for a family that’s near and dear to my heart.

Family Portrait

Aren’t they gorgeous? I’m particularly biased because Michelle has been one of my BFF’s for 15 years. No matter how far away I have lived or how long we would go without talking, Michelle is one of those friends who I can just pick right up where we left off like no time has passed. Now that I’m living back in New Castle, I’m especially lucky to see this family on a regular basis again. Love you guys! xoxoxoxo

I have plenty more from this session that I will share sometime next week. Michelle’s 2 sisters joined in on this session so that they could get a portrait of the three of them for their Dad for his birthday. And although I’m pretty sure that Mr. “G ” is not one of my blog stalkers HAHAHAHA…I’ll wait until after his birthday to post the pictures – just to be sure I’m spoiling anything :)

Kristin - EEEK! These are too precious for words! The reflection in Lia's eyes is amazing! Great job!

Morgan - LOVE LOVE LOVE EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. Landyn is too cute for words! And Lia is precious, not to mention the spitting image of her father! How's it feel Michelle, LOL

Cory Turns One | Franklin, PA Child Photographer

I was in Franklin this past weekend shooting a wedding (in the sweltering heat). Pictures from the wedding will be coming soon.  I’m going to be launching a wedding website at the beginning of next year. So I’m saving all the nuptial goodness for then. But while I was in the area, I scheduled a session for Miss Cory on Sunday morning.  She just turned one and the pictures are to celebrate her one year milestone. It poured down rain on Sunday morning so we waited it out and then shot the images in the freshly rained on lawn. Yummy.

At this point, it started to rain again.  Cory seems a little surprised…

And then she seems to wonder why this crazy lady with the camera won’t give it up already? I mean, it’s raining for goodness sakes!

Well, little Cory, if we had stopped then…I wouldn’t have ended up with these little gems…

Siblings | Children Photographer

Yesterday evening I had the privilege of photographing Summer Portraits for a family that may look familiar to my faithful followers. You may recognize the two older cuties from this Winter Session earlier this year.  And the new little bundle you see here isn’t exactly new to this blog…she was nestled in mama’s belly here and here. Yep, that’s her!

Mill Creek Park Engagement | Youngstown, Ohio

Last night, I photographed an engagement session at Mill Creek Park in Youngstown, Ohio. This was an occasion where the couple picked the location. Why? Because Joe popped the big question right here in this gazebo…

Sara and Joe get engaged in the gazebo at Mill Creek Park Ohio

As we shot the images Sara recounted the day Joe proposed and recalled how all the people seemed to disappear as Joe got down on one knee and confessed that he knew Sara was the one from the day he met her. **sigh**

I love the way Sara fits perfectly into Joe’s lap…

And I love the way they look at each other…

When Sara told me the height difference between her and Joe, I knew I had to have some fun with it. So we played around on this tree stump that I made just for Sara and Joe’s e-session.  I won’t spoil all the pictures here though - this is supposed to be a sneak peek after all. Let’s just say that Sara exclaimed “Look it’s the top of Joe’s head, I don’t think I’ve ever seen the top of Joe’s head” during one of the shots. hahaha!

But I will share the “feet shot.” Yes, the “feet shot” they are becoming quite customary in my sessions these days…obligatory almost – just like the “ring shot.”

And while we are on the subject of customary shots. I can now almost guarantee that if you book a session with me, you’ll be walking away with some  sunflare-y goodness in a variety of shots. They’re kinda my thing. They make me squeal in decibels unheard by the human ear….

Third Time’s A Charm | New Castle, PA Family Photographer

I had to cancel this session twice due to weather and early Tuesday morning I started to think that I was going to have to cancel a third time. But by afternoon we had plenty of sun. In fact, I think this family would agree that we had more sun than we needed.  It was HOT!

So here’s a little sneak peek of this gorgeous family! New Castle PA Family Photographer

My heart melted three times over last week when I spent the afternoon with these little munchkins.

They just celebrated their 1st Birthday and each one has already defined their own personality.

I had such a fun time with them.  I couldn’t put my camera down.  I have so many to choose from!

Mom and Dad, here’s a little variety of  what I came up with….there will be lots more in the gallery!

Until then, Enjoy your sneak peek!
